The 12 years

Let's recall 12 years of journey in just 5 minutes

It all started with a drop of tear, and ended with the same.  This is a real life story of that every person who went to school, not just for getting learned but also for a different deed. Starting with 1234… to sinθ cosθ tanθ… it has a tale of 12years in between. This is a story which has thriller, comedy, love, gloom and everything. Let’s tape the tale and rewind it to the day 12 years back and forwarding it so on.

It was probably 2007 when we left our little footprints on the floor of the building. Crying out loud and shouting "Daddy, take me home please…". We were helpless that time, cause’ there was no one who could get us out of this mess, who could help us making out in the pandemonium. We were just sitting in a big unknown room, everything there was different which we never expected to be. That big chubby lady was an anonymous creature for us who spoke in an unknown language that was ENGLISH. Everything was so mystified. We could not get what was going on. This was the very first day in our school named, Budding Buds Senior Secondary School. We passed our days like that and made lots of friends. We were growing up and getting into higher standards… Life was so innocent and was moving with a flow until puberty hit us after we were 11 years old. Standards were higher, we were getting unexpected knowledge. Our mental emotions were different, we used to think something else and do the other.

Budding buds has a history of the best percentage in academics from every CBSE school in our town. So I’m not going to talk about academics, because we all know school is a place we go to study. There is lots of topic to talk about. We all started making more memories now. How can we forget our game periods, music periods and activity classes? These were the happiness of childhood. Those songs which we learnt were boring but were love. We used shout at the top of our lungs singing ‘Nanna munna rahi hu, desh ka sipahi hu’. I remember we never ever used to listen to our music teacher when we were in class 8.  Our PT classes were the worst. We used to have Mass PT in every Saturday. I don’t know why the faculties made us stand in the burning sun and make us do weird steps like a robot. I never got the point of this robot dance by getting baked in the sun. Studies should be the first priority, and we all love studying. Okay I was just kidding. We hate the morning classes the most and if the first class is of history and that also complete two block periods, the condition was horrifying. This was killing. We all used become sleeping beauty that time. Nevertheless, we enjoyed bunking classes. Moving to the washroom in between the periods, calling our partners from the other sections with the eyebrow gesture and spending maximum 30 minutes is etched in our minds. Class 9 was something called hell. The chapters were so irritating and lengthy. Everything that we studies was like books even don’t want us to read them. Biology was one; which had the deadliest chapters within. Though the names were very innocent (‘Cell’ ‘Tissue’ ‘Agriculture’ ‘Natural Resources’ and the last but not the least ‘Biodiversity’) and only we know our struggle. Do you know the power of class 10? It’s something which will make you understand what your life means to you actually! We have the spiciest memory in class 10. Yes, we did a lot of monkey businesses (even we broke the school rules). We spent time in washrooms rather than attending classes, had out tiffin when teacher used to explain something did mass absenteeism and even the CCTV camera caught us doing all this( but that’s a different issue). The CCTV is just like our best friend indeed. APJ Abdul Kalam once said “Sometimes it’s better to bunk a class and enjoy with friends, because today when I look back, marks never me laugh, but memories do…”

So this is how we all spent our Final Secondary Year. But, we never noticed how the day passed and we crossed 12years in this unknown building. This building was no longer a structure for us; it was more than a home, more than an emotion.  Our friendship started with ‘Yeh dosti hum nahi torenge’ to ‘ tere jaisa yaar kahan’. Today is the time to leave home and move abroad. I don’t know why time passed like Behti Hawa. This story of love ends here. We completed our 12 years of relationship with our school. Memories and those sketch pen paintings on our white shirt prove this. And finally it all ended with a tear again and this time we are crying aloud and shouting “I want to stay back here”. It’s time to close the book of the Blinked School days….

I want to take some of the names of those people who made my school life more amusing. Sweeta Banerjee, Niharika Moral, Trisha Singha, Simran Sen, Tanisha Bhattacharjee,  Ishika Deb, Menka Gupta, Parishmita Limbu, Nandini Das, Arrya Gupta, Shrishti Taparia, Sushmita Modi, Bidisha Handique, Bidisha Agarwal, Afrin Khatoon, Natalia Saikia, Preety Pandey, Pratistha Das, Ankita Ghosh, Swarnali Ghosh, Anwesha Bhadra, Bhashwatee Das, Arundhati Bardhan, Sweeta Dutta, Sanjida Samrin. And even the complete class 10 batch
I’ll even like to mention some of our teachers’ names whom I’ll miss the most; Gurjit ma’am, Madhurima ma’am, Nishtha ma’am, Bitapa ma’am, Himanshu sir, Pandey sir, Anindita ma’am, Prasenjit sir, Seema Ma’am, Nupur ma’am and of course our Best Principal Samiran sir will be in our hearts always.   I’ll miss my Bagpipe Band Team and school chorus team. Thank you so much for being a part of my journey.
But, some names are so special to me; those 4 people are closest to my heart. I believe that it’s okay not to acknowledge Sohini, Sudipta, Priyanshi and Eshita separately.
This article is dedicated to our school Budding Buds Senior Secondary School.

Ganpati Bappa Morya and Social Concern

(C)Image Tinsukia is on its peak mood to celebrate Ganesh Chathurti this year. Everyone is in a big chaos and not even know what's going round in the world. Believing in the only moto"ভগবানের লীলা, তিনি সবার রক্ষা করবে" and shouting at the top of their lungs, disturbing each and every corner of every colony. No, now what you think, गणपति बप्पा जागकर तुम्हारे पास आएंगे? This never happened and will never happen in world history. I don't mean that celebrating any kind of religious festival is bad or perturbing or should not be done, but their should be discipline, devotional feeling in all aspect. Specially hindu religious festives are celebrated in violent ways (violence here doesn't mean harming anyone by physical force). Bappa ain't gonna bless anyone who just mean to shout 'Ganpati Bappa morya' and put whatsapp status for a day and wait till the day of visarjan and emerge Bappa in a clean river.  A heart with pure devoti...
